Trick or treat? Its Halloween and we hope there are lots of yummy treats in store for all the little ones (and adults too.) As you go trick or treating today, dont forget to follow some basic safety rules (and go easy on that candy!) 1. Review pedestrian safety rules: Remind your child to look left-right-left when crossing, use sidewalks and look out for cars backing out of driveways. 2. Use safe costumes and accessories: Wear well-fitting masks, costumes and shoes to avoid blocked vision, trips and falls. Avoid sharp or dangerous accessories. 3. Walk with your child: Walk together in groups and avoid sending your child without adult supervision, especially at night. 4. Educate your community: Ask neighbors to drive safely and ensure walking areas and stairs are safe and well-lit.

Its One Island Giving Day today and we are participating in this virtual event that aims to raise over one million dollars for local, Long Island-based nonprofits to help create a better Long Island for all Long Islanders. By giving through this campaign, you would be helping us raise funds for critical areas within our Hospital: sponsoring promising research, acquiring new equipment, continuing medical education, modernizing, expanding and building new facilities, and providing outreach programs. Together we can create a healthier Long Island; thank you in advance for your support! Its World Gratitude Day and here at NYU Winthrop, we are thankful to our wonderful staff and team of caregivers who do their very best to improve the health and lives of all our patients. If you are a patient who would like to publicly honor and thank your special NYU Winthrop Hospital Caregiver(s), you can now do so through our Grateful Patients and Families Program. This program allows patients to make a gift in the honor of their caregivers, not only recognizing them for their exceptional care but also helping the Hospital provide the same compassionate and essential care to others.
