Duties will include planning, executing and controlling acquisition programs; organizing, training and supervising a support staff. Will work with senior government personnel on a regular basis, and may be called on to provide briefings and lead large meetings.
Serve as the principal technical advisor and provide weekly program/project status updates and recommendations related to program cost, schedule and performance. Identify issues and provide recommendations to achieve overall near-term and long-term goals.
Assist with the coordination and communication with Navy Manpower/Personnel community managers on behalf of the Manpower and Training Branch Head to gather workforce data and assist with analysis of MPTE requirements.
Knowledge of acquisition statues, regulations, and procedures; acquisition planning; a wide variety of contracting methods and contract types; negotiation techniques; and private business practices and market conditions.
The incumbent is to ensure that decisions are communicated appropriately both internal and external to the JPO, providing follow up to assure that intended messages and actions are understood and executed as warranted.
Assist in the development of proposals for POM budget cycles. Identify, integrate and coordinate emerging and/or derived requirements into the POM cycle via management of Navy manpower management programs and PBIS databases as required.
Provide strategic analysis and well-integrated/coordinated support for the DDG-1000 program in accordance with Department of Defense program management and Acquisition oversight policies and strategies.
