Volunteer Ashley from San Marino @girlscoutsla Troop # 6101 recently completed her Gold Award Service Project at Villa School. Ashley created a beautiful map of Pasadena on our blacktop space, providing a fun and educational piece of art for students and staff. You might recognize some popular Pasadena landmarks like the @rosebowlstadium and the @nortonsimon Museum! Thank you for your commitment to service, Ashley, and for providing Villa School students with a great way to play, interact outside, and learn about the city of Pasadena! We are #grateful. Stay tuned for aerial footage of Ashleys amazing ground mural! #Volunteer #VillaSchool #GSGoldAward

Chuck first joined Villas Employment Program in 2011 while working as a Deli Clerk at Vons. In March of 2016 he joined the restaurant @Wingstop. At the beginning, Chuck was not receiving many hours and had some difficulties while preparing food. With help from his job coach, Chuck was able to learn and perform his job effectively, and began picking up more shifts. He displayed such great improvement and dedication that he was awarded employee of the month in April of 2017! Great job Chuck! #VillaEmployment #VillaStories #VillaWR

Brothers Raphael and Michael have been stellar Villa School volunteers this summer. Theyve been helping our students with a variety of activities such as arts and crafts, playing catch, and reading stories. Med student Raphael reflects, The kids are teaching us, too, just by being in their presence. Michael, who is planning to major in psychology at LMU in the fall, agrees. I appreciate that the experience is hands-on. I can have meaningful encounters beyond reading a textbook, and thats really enriching. Thank you Raphael and Michael! We are grateful for your commitment to service! #Volunteer #GetInvolved #VillaSchool

Camp Esperanza is well under way at the Villa Esperanza School! This summer camp experience for our students, started last year by Girl Scout Julia Nail, continues to be a huge hit. This years camp theme is animals and today, miniature horses from Critters to Go Petting Zoo and Pony Rides visited the school! Students enjoyed learning to pet, brush, walk, and feed treats to noble steeds Zero and Peppermint. Special thanks to the Womans Civic League of Pasadena and the Thornton S. Glide, Jr. and Katherine D. Glide Foundation for their support of Camp Esperanza! #CampEsperanza #VillaSchool #MiniHorses
