The University of Texas at Austin, also known as UT Austin, UT, or Texas, is a public research university in Austin, Texas, founded in 1883. The University of Texas was included in the Association of American Universities in 1929. Student-athletes compete as the Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns have won four NCAA Division I National Football Championships, six NCAA Division I National Baseball Championships, thirteen NCAA Division I National Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, and has claimed more titles in men's and women's sports than any other school in the former Big 12.
