Develop applications, to specification, for deployment in web based systems; establish development objectives; priorities and timelines. Communicate with the campus community in evaluating features and application functionality.
Director has strategic leadership for the Academic Achievement Programs including the management and direction of all activities related to the operation of the Programs, supervising the Assistant Directors of the four current programs, and integrating the mission of these programs with the overall values and mission of University.
Develop, manage and implement media relations strategies to enhance the University's reputation and visibility and the public's appreciation for the accomplishments of students, faculty and leadership in advancing the mission and vision of the University. Direct the media relations staff to strategically align media outreach with the goals of the University and to respond effectively to the needs of diverse media outlets.
Evaluate the human resources of Physical Facilities to ensure the core responsiblities of the department are met. Develop training programs and job enrichment and apprenticeship program for the department. Assist the Office of general counsel on any litigation concerning Physical Facilities. Participate in all labor management meetings, on the contract negotiating team, and coordinate the flow of information from Physical Facilities to the University of Akron's upper administration.
Plan and organize practices to properly train students for games and promote the athletic development of individual athletes. Recruit highly skilled student athletes while initiating off-campus recruiting activities and maintaining oral and written correspondence. Oversee various fundraising and promotional activities to increase community involvement and secure funds for program operations.
