Thomas Jefferson University is a private research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1824 as Jefferson Medical College, and now includes the Sidney Kimmel Medical College, College of Health Professions, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, and the Kanbar College of Design, Engineering and Commerce. The university is known for its healthcare and medical programs, and has been ranked as one of the top medical schools in the country. It is also a member of the Association of American Universities.
