As Hurricane Harvey devastated the Houston area, TeamHealth formed a clinician recovery team to provide staffing relief to hospitals throughout the affected area. Dr. Mary Haven Merkle and Dr. Robby Frantz discuss how TeamHealth quickly mobilized to support TeamHealth physicians impacted by the storm and recruit additional clinicians to the area to help ensure its partner hospitals had the support they needed to care for their patients in this HealthLeaders article. #HurricaneHarvey http://www.healthleadersmedia.com/hr/physicians-rush-houston-harveys-wake?utm_source=IN&utm_medium=IN_OrganicPost

#hurricaneharvey Relief Clinician Needs Fulfilled! Thank you to those of you who reached out to serve as relief clinicians for our Texas-based clinical teams. The response was overwhelming as our incident command center received hundreds of inquiries from TeamHealth physicians and advanced practice clinicians ready and willing to help. We quickly mobilized volunteers, and we are pleased to share that immediate staffing relief needs are now fulfilled. If/when additional staffing needs arise, our teams will reach out to those who contacted the incident command center. In the midst of this major natural disaster, we have witnessed outstanding efforts from our clinical and non-clinical teams, both on a local level in Texas and on a national level as we work to mobilize resources. Thank you for your contributions. Together, we have all helped ensure patients and families receive quality healthcare during an incredibly trying time. Incident Command Center Our incident command center is still available to serve our clinicians, non-clinical teams, clients and patients. There are multiple communication methods to reach the command center: Call: 844-486-2258 Email: WestGroupDisasterManagemeent@teamhealth.com

Urgent: Relief Clinicians Needed in Texas! TeamHealth West Region is under a weather emergency as widespread flooding continues across parts of Texas. As hospital and facility volumes rise over the coming days, TeamHealth is forming a clinician recovery team to provide staffing relief for Texas-based clinical teams and ensure patients and families receive quality healthcare during this time. The Office of the Governor of Texas has temporarily suspended all necessary statutes and rules to allow health care providers employed by a hospital and licensed and in good standing in another state to practice in Texas in order assist with disaster response operations. If you are able to be part of the TeamHealth recovery team, please do the following: Send an email to Dr. Mary Haven Merkle, Jennifer Behm and Beth Parks (MaryHaven_Merkle@teamhealth.com , Jennifer_Behm@teamhealth.com , Beth_Parks@teamhealth.com) Indicate which of the following blocks of time you could be available: - Tuesday, August 29, to Thursday, August 31 - Friday, September 1, to Sunday, September 4 Additional assistance may be needed after September 4. Details will be communicated as developments continue. #HurricaneHarvey
