HSHS St. Anthonys Memorial Hospital wants to inform the public about a phone scam in the area. The Caller ID may identify it as St. Anthonys Hospital and has a message about paying your hospital bill, but actually wants to talk about social security number and date of birth. Please be aware that this is not a call from St. Anthonys and is someone who has spoofed the hospital information via phone and caller ID. As always, be cautious with phone callers soliciting information or assistance, and never give out personal info over the phone. Please be assured that St. Anthonys Memorial Hospital does not release any of your personal contact information to this type of third-party business. If you are suspicious of any call claiming to be from the hospital, do not share any information without confirming that the caller is legitimate. To do this, ask the caller for their extension to call them back, then call St. Anthonys Memorial Hospital's main number, 217-342-2121, and ask for that extension.

HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital wishes you a healthy and safe New Year's Eve. Everyone wants to have a memorable night, but the following safety tips can ensure you begin 2018 healthy and happy. Don't Drink and Drive - this is the most important rule for a safe New Year's Eve! Get a ride - have the number pre-programmed in your phone. Designate a driver - plan ahead and pick someone dependable to be sober, offering to buy non-alcoholic beverages for them for the night. Have a sleepover - this keeps everyone off the road and allows everyone to ring in the New Year safely. Stay off the roads - even if you have not been drinking, there is no way to control other drivers. If you have to be in a car on New Year's Eve, be sure to wear your seat belt and stay alert.
