Then: In 1978, the Riverside Research optics program developed laser sensor technology for applications in agile beam laser radar transmitters and receivers, designed fine angle trackers using laser radars, and developed algorithms for precision laser angle tracking. Now: To innovate and pioneer in optics and photonics research, Riverside Research has expanded its portfolio to encompass cutting-edge research in terahertz photonics, remote sensing, biomedical optics, and material characterization. Then: Starting in 1972, Riverside Research was deeply involved through all stages of formulation, acquisition, and test and evaluation for the Cobra Judy radara phased array radar system that provided a national capability for collecting data on foreign missile tests. Now: After almost ten years of development, Riverside Research helped field Cobra Judys replacement: Cobra King, which provides, for the first time, dual, independent phased array radar control that captures orders of magnitude more data than any of its predecessor systems.
