Perdue Transportation truck driver Dexter Willey pulled out in the predawn hours this morning, headed to flood-stricken Texas. Hes pulling a load of donated chicken products destined for the Food Bank of Golden Crescent in Victoria, Texas. Our thanks to our teams of drivers who are making special trips to Texas to deliver more than 20 truckloads of protein donations to Feeding America food banks and to schools as we try do our small part to help. They also carry our thoughts and prayers to the people of Houston and surrounding communities.

As we're preparing our product donations to ship to Feeding America food banks in flood stricken Texas, we're also loading three trucks with our Spot Farms dehydrated dog food. A shout-out to the food banks for helping families with pets.

Descendents of company founder Arthur Perdue and his son, Frank Perdue, gathered with Chairman Jim Perdue (lower right) and his sisters to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Perdue family farmhouse. Arthur built the house in 1917, and his wife, Pearl, tended to the couple's first flock while Arthur saved up enough to go into the business full time. The farmhouse is the same house you see illustrated on our packaging. http://bit.ly/2wxVDnN

Visitors to the Wicomico County (Maryland) Fair had the opportunity to learn about some changes we're making to how we raise chickens, including more light, more space, enrichments to encourage normal behaviors, windows and outdoor access. Don't worry if you weren't there, we've got the changes we're making described on our website.http://bit.ly/2wuQ6hM
