    Today, were announcing more than $3.7 million in grants to help conserve the monarch butterfly population in North America. Over the past 20 years, the monarch population has declined by over 80 percent, largely due to a loss of overwintering and breeding habitats. Grantees will work to help restore these vital habitats and conserve the butterfly population.
