Have you seen our new light pole banners installed around our campus? Each banner showcases our amazing patients with their doctors. Every week, well share those photos and the remarkable stories behind the people in them. Well start with Joel Patton and his vascular surgeon Rajesh Malik: An IT professional and part-time personal trainer, Joel, 35, was diagnosed with a rare and serious condition called popliteal artery entrapment syndrome, in which the muscles and tendons near the knee were compressing the popliteal artery, restricting blood flow to his lower leg. Dr. Malik performed surgery that avoided amputation of Joels leg. Im working out smarter and listening to my body when my legs and feet tell me to rest, Joel says. I am making improvements daily, and Im grateful I put my confidence in Dr. Malik. He saved my leg.
