Canadarm2 stepped out of its cradle 16 years ago this week and immediately became the beloved and iconic Canadian contribution to the International Space Station from the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). On behalf of the CSA, MDAs team of 30 contributed to the Canadarm2s successful installation, but one engineer was singled out by Commander Chris Hadfield Jean-Paul Langevin who received a Good job, J.P. while Hadfield was on his spacewalk installing the arm on the International Space Station. Canadarm2 was too heavy to test on Earth, so for the arm, it was the first time it actually exercised its joints when it was affixed to the International Space Station. JPs degree in mechanical engineering allows him to continue his fascination in tinkering in space programs such as the CSAs RADARSAT Constellation Mission.

Some of MDAs roving "Celebrity Scientists" attended the Science Jam at Aberdeen Center as a part of Richmond School District No. 38's Education Week, where MDA is a sponsor. The event is the largest non-competitive Science Fair in BC, with over 600 students displaying their projects, and thousands of people attending. Ting, Laura, Darren, and Jayanti had a blast!
