  • MacGregor participated with a case at the #IntelligenceHunt. Our case, Simulation and optimisation for improved efficiency of vehicle loading/discharging for RoPax Ferries won 2nd prize granted by DFDS Group. The objective of the MacGregor case was to develop a way to analyse and optimise the traffic flow on board RoPax ferries. Team Roll On Roll Off was able to present a clear picture of how to tackle the complex nature of the task. Using traffic flow software adapted for use on ships, the team was able to demonstrate a clear practical solution to the problem, showing traffic flow, utilisation and varied cargo mix. A very impressive solution for a group of people with limited RoRo experience and completed within a very short time period, says Phillip Tipping, Director, Customer Innovation, MacGregor. The jury also found the teams solution very good, and awarded them 2nd prize of EUR 1.500 granted by DFDS Group. Congratulations to winning team, from left: Dao Thanh, Saurav Lamichane, Sebastian Selvarajan, Lauri Vesala, Tatiana Makarova and Natalia Okuneva (missing from the photo).
