Lumosity is an online program consisting of games claiming to improve memory, attention, flexibility, speed of processing, and problem solving.[citation needed] Lumosity is the product of Lumos Labs, a brain training and neuroscience[citation needed] research company based in San Francisco, California. There is limited independent evidence that these games are effective, and the companys claims for them have been found to be misleading by the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.     I help determine the ''what,'' ''why,'' and ''when'' of the games we make,"" says Shelby, Product Manager on the Games team. She recently worked on our new Math games category have you played yet? Shelby has been at Lumosity for the last four years and was part of the Customer Support and Science teams before joining Games. With a Bachelors degree in Neurobiology from @harvard, and having worked in a lab at Harvard Medical School, Shelby fit right in when our Science team was looking for a Research Associate. For two years, Shelby conducted background #research to understand how the scientific community measured and assessed certain cognitive areas. After the research phase crucial to the development of games at Lumosity she collaborated with our team to create games based on her work. I followed the games'' development process closely and was able to bring my knowledge about our users to the work. As a Research Associate, Shelby helped develop our latest problem solving games Fuse Clues and Pirate Passage. When not at Lumosity, you might find Shelby drawing or reading science fiction and fantasy books. Shes currently hooked on The Gene, by Siddhartha Mukherjee.
