LSI Corporation was an American company based in San Jose, California which designed semiconductors and software that accelerate storage and networking in datacenters, mobile networks and client computing. LSI was acquired by Avago Technologies in May 2014 for $6.6 billion. LSI's products are employed in storage and networking products from smartphones to supercomputers. LSI's components had been incorporated into a wide range of systems including servers, storage arrays, and personal computers. LSI sold its external storage systems business to NetApp in 2011, and spun off its Accelerated Solutions Division to Intel in 2013.
