The Director of Pharmacy plans, directs, and monitors all activities of the department. Develops policies, procedures and processes to ensure that the pharmacy provides optimal pharmaceutical care and meets all legal, accreditation and certification requirements.
Develop and maintain sound administrative policies and management activities including budget control, cost determination, fee setting and collection, and financial reports to the SVP. Implement effective budgeting and accounting systems that promotes the health and safety of the patients and oversees all Agency fiscal affairs. Implement and regularly evaluate agency budgets.
Interprets, clarifies and transcribes all medication orders accurately and timely. Monitors medication orders and reviews patient profile to ensure appropriate drug selection and dosage (no drug duplication, interactions or allergies). Prepares and labels all drugs accurately and timely.
Performs or oversees all tasks associated with the hospital's quality reporting requirements, to include gathering and tracking relevant quality data and outcomes, inputting data into appropriate systems, filing reports with various agencies, and following up to ensure all quality-related reports are filed correctly and in a timely fashion.
Oversee the performance management process to ensure that talent assessment and development initiatives are an essential component and that the performance management process supports leadership and staff development initiatives.
Uses discretion and independent judgment to organize and administer nursing services at the hospital. Maintains and models effective working relationships with hospital employees, medical staff, patients, families and visitors.
Provides leadership and support for clinical operations, including financial management; development of budgets; quality and appropriateness of patient care; standards of performance for clinical practice.
