Here in Los Angeles, were taking action to curb climate change, fighting to protect our natural resources, and working to create a greener future for our children. Whether were planting trees along our streets or designing a new plan to revitalize the L.A. River, sustainability is at the core of everything we do. Thats why we wrote the most ambitious environmental strategy in our citys history -- the Sustainable City pLAn -- to guide our progress. Since then, we built the worlds most powerful rooftop solar installation, launched an electric car-sharing program for our low income communities -- and pioneered creative water-conservation efforts, like rolling out shade balls to save 300 million gallons of water each year. And because we know that our future depends on our access to water, weve made Los Angeles the most water efficient big city in America, and strengthened our partnerships in the Owens Valley. But we cant fight global climate change alone. We have to work together -- with cities across the nation and the world. Thats why we brought the first-ever U.S.-China Climate Leaders Summit to L.A. and joined international leaders at the landmark 2015 Paris Climate Change Conference. When Washington didnt act, L.A. did. We co-founded the Climate Mayors, pledging to adopt the goals of the Paris Agreement right here at home -- and mayors around the country, representing more than 65 million Americans, joined us. Together, we will keep our planet, our city, and our neighborhood healthier, cleaner, and greener. #LAInauguration2017

Los Angeles is the creative capital of the world -- and we couldnt be prouder of the amazing art, film, music and culture Angelenos are producing every day. During four years in office, we have witnessed some truly magical moments. We welcomed The Broad museum to DTLA and brought the magic of La La Land to City Hall with a special concert and a breathtaking dance performance. We worked to bring our historic Angels Flight back to life, visited with our old friend R2D2, and said goodbye to Hollywoods beloved batman, Adam West. We joined Angelenos sharing stories at The Moth StorySLAM, conducted the Inner City Youth Orchestra of L.A. and heralded the Lucas Museum of Narrative Arts decision to make a home in Exposition Park. And well never forget how we showed the true heart of L.A. when we stood together, 750,000 strong at the Womens March, united in our commitment to be a place where our differences are celebrated and we always stand up for each other. #LAInauguration2017
