Congratulations to Jaron and Justin Wilkinson who recently graduated from Oakwood University in Alabama. Jaron and Justin are twin brothers who started their journeys at Hyde way back in 2006 when they were in sixth grade. Today, they are college graduates pursuing careers in nursing, and their excellent education and exemplary character will take them far. We project that 50% of our Class of 2013 will earn a college degree by age 24, more than five times the national average for low-income students. #HydeBronx #PreparationForLife

Earlier this spring, Hyde Middle School students Diana, Jeleny, William, and Aissata canvassed the Hunts Point neighborhood to secure votes for a bathroom renovation project being considered by the New York City Council. As a result of their dedicated efforts and political activism, today City Council Member Salamanca awarded these students and Hyde Leadership Charter School''s 730 Bryant Avenue building with $150,000 to improve the school''s bathrooms. Thank you to City Council Member Rafael Salamanca for his support of Hunts Point''s students, and thank you Diana, Jeleny, William, Aissata and every individual who helped to secure these resources for our school. #HydeBronx #CommunitiesRiseTogether
