A look inside @maurices'' downtown Duluth, MN headquarters, recently honored as a 2016 Top Project by Finance & Commerce. When maurices set out to build a new headquarters, their 450 associates were spread across numerous buildings, including the original store location established in 1931. Spanning a full block on Superior Street, the 11-story, $80 million dollar project is the largest downtown development in Duluths history. The new headquarters brings everyone together, supporting collaboration with room for future growth. Each floor has its own unique character not to mention dramatic views of #LakeSuperior. | Richard Brine #interiordesign #interiorarchitecture #workplacedesign #cooloffices #hgaarchitects #hgaminneapolis #duluth #discovermaurices

Thank you for the honor #aslamn! #Regram @landscapearch: Minnesota Military Family Tribute was a Merit Award winner in the general design category. HGA Architects and Engineers (@hgaarchitects ), with Meisinger Construction Co. Inc., Kamish Excavation Inc., Margolis Company, Northway Irrigation Inc., Bulach Custom Rock LLC, Choice Electric Inc., Stone & Steel Design, MC McGrath Inc., Gold Start Table Fabricator, Advantage Signs & Graphics Inc., Braun Intertec Corporation and Geotechnical Inspection Services were behind this project. During the competition, the landscape architects oldest son was deployed to Iraq. This event provided a great sense of purpose and honor to win the competition and oversee the design and construction efforts. Currently, there are no other known Tributes that honor military families. It is the hope that other states will follow Minnesota so that no military family goes unrecognized. Each of the Story Stones was hand selected and artfully placed as directed by the landscape architect. Eighty-four of the stone monoliths came from the excavation for US Bank Stadium, the new home of the Minnesota Vikings. Three of the Story Stones are Sioux Quartzite or Catlinite, otherwise known as pipestone. They were supplied by Rock County and used to represent three of the counties in southwestern Minnesota where the sacred stone originates (Lyon, Rock & Pipestone). #WLAM2017 #landscapearchitecture #minnesota #militaryfamilies #aslamn #hgaarchitects
