In 2006, gkkworks acquired architectural firm LHA of Glendale, California. The acquisition allowed gkkworks to diversify in the commercial and retail markets. In 2007, gkkworks acquired Sacramento, California-based CCS Group, a firm specializing in master planning for community colleges. In 2010, to expand work in the federal and mission critical facilities markets, gkkworks acquired Los Angeles-based design-build firm Syska Hennessy Group Construction.
