Whether youre playing a #sport, going for a #hike, or just sitting outside to catch some rays, its important to drink water throughout the entire activity. Everyone is different, so the amount of recommended water intake while #exercising varies from person to person. Your sweat rate, the humidity, and how long youre exercising are all factors that you should consider. The American Council on Exercise suggests the average person drink 17 to 20 ounces of #water two to three hours before they begin exercising, and eight ounces 20 to 30 minutes prior to exercising. While youre active, you should drink seven to 10 ounces of water every 10 to 20 minutes. Within 30 minutes of finishing your exercise, you should drink eight ounces of water. Carrying a water bottle is one of the easiest ways to #stayhydrated. This allows you to have access to water whenever youre feeling #dehydrated. Not only is this a great way to have access to water no matter where you are, but it will also help you save money. Refilling a reusable water bottle with tap water will save you from buying bottled water in bulk at the grocery store each week. Using a water bottle can also help you to feel more alert during the day. If youre at work and you hit that midday wall where you feel like your energy has been zapped, having a bottle of water nearby can give you the energy boost you need to keep going. Staying hydrated also helps to keep us in a better mood and reduces frustration. Visit FMH.org and search #beattheheat to learn more about staying hydrated. #HealthyLiving #Wellness #Hydration
