Members of Engilitys Defense Health Agency Knowledge Translation (KT) team supported their client at the Military Health System (MHS) Research Symposium in Florida this week. This included a packed house on Sunday, for a presentation about KT Action Group collaboration across more than 30 MHS organizations to establish the groundwork for enterprise-wide KT infrastructure. In addition, Acting Director of the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury, Dr. Richard Stoltz, presented on a beta test of the KT model developed by Engility and ongoing KT initiatives. Today, the first total eclipse over the U.S. since smartphones have become commonplace is taking place. This means that amateur researchers can participate in scientific experiments happening across the country. The minutes of darkness that most Americans will experience will be a busy few minutes for researchers, including those at George Mason University in Virginia; they will be scrambling to gather as much information as they can about the ionosphere (Earths upper atmosphere). While people dont interact with this part of the atmosphere directly, we use it to send GPS and satellite signals around the world.
