Significant design and engineering responsibilities, including concept development, detailed design and analysis, release and verification for component and assembly design, determining manufacturing methods, FEA, DFM, and DFA.
Spearheading regulatory planning and obtaining regulatory approvals in the US, the CE mark on applicable international applications, and working with other non-CE countries' regulatory authorities as needed.
Develop and design new prototype devices. This requires a familiarity with the software robotic operating system, system design and integration as well as linear/non-linear control system design techniques.
Audits software unit and integration testing for consistency and compliance with the project methodology; along with the software lead and test engineer, approves software integration tests and test results.
Generate creative solutions to design problems and demonstrate their viability considering factors such as risk, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, weight and cost; transition concepts into products using 3D CAD Solid Modeling, defining requirements, selecting materials and processes, interacting with suppliers and manufacturers, and documenting the development process.
Hands-on experience with mechanical design tools and software (CAD, FEA, etc.), and tolerance analysis. Working knowledge of ANSI GD&T. SolidWorks platform; experience with sensor integration and DAQ system design and validation. PLC exposure a plus.
Acts as manufacturing representative from design concept through manufacturing on assigned projects; provides technical expertise to drive process and build development and transition to manufacturing.
Drives day to day project activity to achieve results including solving technical and other project challenges, managing resource conflicts, breaking down barriers, upholding high performance standards, and meeting commitments.
Design and develop complex circuit boards containing a mix of analog and digital circuitry through the creation of schematics and the ability of managing the PCB layout; perform debug and failure analysis of circuitry as well as the creation of test fixtures to aid in both the development and production of circuit boards.
Schedule and review project tasks, providing leadership in the delivery of services to clients and ensuring staff fulfills their responsibilities in accordance with client's policies, procedures and SOPs.
