Freedom & Full Body Hugs: Craig grad, Corey Fairbanks, took up scuba diving after he sustained a spinal cord injury in a skiing accident. This year, Corey joined Craig''s Adventure Program & A-1 Scuba & Travel Aquatics Center on an adaptive scuba diving trip to Cayman Brac. The feeling of scuba diving to me is absolute freedom. Since my accident, its the first opportunity Ive had to be in an environment where I have no barriers, where I can turn my body and I can go in any direction I want to go. Former patient Sammy Ward celebrated his 50th year coming back to Craig Hospital, his home away from home, for his annual re-evaluation. Current and former Craig staff & friends helped him celebrate and the city of Englewood named September 20th Sammy Ward Day! I thank everyone who has cared for me throughout these past 50 years. Nearly 350 cyclists rode over 14,000 miles (or 22,530k) in the third annual Pedal 4 Possible cycling event on Saturday. We pedaled - and partied - for possible and we couldn''t have asked for a better gathering of riders and volunteers. Special thanks to our partners at PEARL iZUMi for hosting our ride at their beautiful headquarters. Between registrations, fundraising and sponsorships, we have raised $141,000 for patients and programs at Craig. Fundraising is open until tomorrow, and there is still time to give at www.pedal4possible.org! Click the link in our bio to read more. #p4p17 #empoweringlives #endureandenjoy365
