Tapawingo is a place of transformation. I have seen so much growth in my own life as a result of being a camper, CIT, a counselor, and on administrative staff. Tapawingo was always a place of spiritual refreshment growing up and I looked forward to my weeks as a camper for the whole year. Being on staff, I was able to see the immense value of Tapawingo from a different perspective. This was especially true my summer as Business Manager. I saw how many girls came to Tapawingo only because of a scholarship and was able to talk to several families through the scholarship process. Many of the girls who got scholarships also committed their lives to Christ for the first time. I have seen how God uses the ministry of Tapawingo to change my own life and the lives of so many young girls. It''s truly a life-changing place. ""I grew up going to Camp-of-the-Woods each summer. I remember hearing about the missionaries they supported and the work they were doing to share the gospel around the world. In the summer of 1977 I went to Hong Kong to work at Suen Douh Camp, my first short term mission trip, little suspecting at that time that God would call me back to full-time mission service with SEND in 1990. From then until now COTW has supported Ann and me. For the first 17 years we were in Alaska, and SEND was planting churches in small villages in Alaska, British Columbia, and the Yukon Territory. We then transferred to SEND''s home office for eight years to serve the mission as US Director, from which we sent church planters to 20 countries around the world. Currently we are serving with Pioneers at their US home office in Orlando, FL which places people in over 100 countries around the world, proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, and planting churches. Camp-of-the-Woods has supported us faithfully now for 26 years, and the zeal to keep the campers informed about missions around the world is unabated. Only God knows just how great an impact COTW has had on the growth of the Kingdom of God around the world through its support of missionaries through the years."" Phil and Ann Baur . Help spread the good new of the Gospel by supporting the missions program this #givingtuesday! Donations will go towards the 14 active and 6 retired missionaries that CAMP-of-the-WOODS supports; as well as projects such as the Chiang Rai Training center. Stay tuned to hear more about the programs here at CAMP-of-the-WOODS, and how you can #givewithpurpose.
