The 2017 Hammerfest Triathlon was a great success with a strong contingent of birds representing the flock! Hammerfest is an annual event to benefit @BriansHope, a foundation dedicated to broadening awareness for ALD, supporting medical research, and educating the public about efforts to implement ALD newborn screening. Way to go, birds! #bluebirddays

Gabriella Pasciullo is our Country Medical Lead Director for Italy and our first EU bird to be featured in the Make Your Mark campaign! Since joining bluebird, Gabriella has done a phenomenal job connecting with Italian patient groups and nurturing these relationships with the respect and sensitivity they deserve. Gabriella is always (always!) ready to help, and a great team player who has been instrumental in building collaborations with the patient advocacy groups. On speaking to patients, Gabriella says, Listening to them, Im not only learning about their daily care of Thalassemia but moreover, as a human, Im more conscious of the dramatic impact this disease has on a patients life. Gabriella is helping bluebird connect with patients in a meaningful and significant way and helping to pave the path for what is yet to come. Thank you, Gabriella for all your tremendous work and for Making Your Mark with us! #bluebirddays #makeyourmark

We received amazing confidential feedback from the Best Places to Work survey taken by our birds! In the spirit of sharing honest and transparent insight into what life is like in the nest, weve decided to share some of what we heard. We believe that developing and strengthening our leadership at every level of bluebird is critical for us to get right as we grow and scale. Whether a bird has experience managing or is new to the role, we understand the importance of equipping our managers and are fully committed to their development. Since weve received similar feedback in the past, we have implemented training workshops to provide our managers with the tools and guidance around leading a team and managing direct reports. As our nest grows, well continue to strengthen our culture, develop our birds and stay true to our core values. It takes every bird to make our nest great! #bluebirddays #bbjbestplacestowork2017

Our birds participated in Light the Night Walk 2017 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma society. Light the Night helps to raise funds that go towards cancer research. Thank you to all the birds that helped coordinate, and all who participated in this amazing event! #bluebirddays #lightthenight
