Bidgely user John Craig (http://www.beanstalkenergy.com) recently experienced the Napa earthquake. He found a few interesting use cases for Bidgely that he wrote to us about. If you have interesting things you've been able to do with Bidgely, let us know! Here's what John had to say: "The Earthquake hit about 3:20 and we lost all power for several hours. 0 kWh, what a great base load. I have got a 5kw PV solar system on my roof with a single Fronius inverter and no real monitoring system other then Bidgely, so there is no way to see if any modules got broken other then getting on the roof and inspecting or comparing the output to another day. When I looked I was dismayed to see that my output was low, then I realized the swimming pool pump was on mid-day (it is on a time clock and normally runs first thing in the morning). All i need to do was reset the time clock. I am really looking forward to the PV solar version of Bidgely (http://bidgely.com/utility_solar) and hope it includes a feature to alert owners when the PV solar output is significantly different. Enphase already provides this service if you purchase their monitoring system. Thanks to Bidgely I was able to figure out why my loads had changed and it was not broken modules. The other neat thing is that I was able to see exactly how long the power was off so my family did not need to worry about food spoiling in not-working refrigerators."
