Turning Pointe Autism Foundation is all about providing specialized education environments and curriculum for junior high and high school students and families living on the autism spectrum. They provide classes that focus on independent living, appropriate behavior, how to maximize the quality of life after Turning Pointe, and provide vocational training. Turning Pointe works in tandem with local schools, therapy centers, and local government resources to provide the best experience and encourage inclusion in the community. . The Turning Pointe Autism Foundation would use our Good Will Network $24,000 grant to help fund their Therapeutic Day School, which helps residents improve their life skills through individualized training. Founded by a group of realtors, Realtors Against Homelessness (RAH) does the behind-the-scenes work to help keep students facing homelessness in school. Students are supported with housing, transportation, school supplies, and the school activity and event fees that can add up. Their mission is to allow students to have little or no disruption due to homelessness in school. . RAH would use Good Will Networks $24,000 grant to help even more students. Every day their dedicated staff works toward finding Chicagoans homes as well as helping folks with case management services. Founded in 1989, PADS of Elgin has been giving homeless individuals access to hot meals, laundry services, and warm showers. . With the $24,000 of Good Will Network grant funds, PADS of Elgin would be able to continue to assist up to 50 individuals with emergency shelter. In 2016, PADS of Elgin: . - Helped a total of 342 individuals . - Served 20,181 meals . - Provided 10,511 nights of shelter PADS of Elgin maintains a 73% exit shelter success rate over the last six years, which is three times the national average.
