    AOA President Takes Professions Concerns to Nations Capital AOA President Chris Quinn, O.D. was in Washington, D.C. yesterday to discuss Optometrys top priorities, including stopping a burdensome and unnecessary FTC contact lens proposal, with top federal lawmakers and agency officials. After a lengthy discussion with Sen. John Boozman, O.D (R-AR) yesterday morning, Dr. Quinn will be leading meetings with top policy officials on both sides of Capitol Hill and at key federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

    At the invitation of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator, Seema Verma, AOA had an opportunity to be at the table to discuss much needed regulatory reform. AOA will continue to work with CMS to improve quality reporting programs to enhance their value to physicians and patients; to ensure that electronic health records are not an impediment to care; and to address burdensome CMS requirements related to enrollment and prior authorization processes. #patientsoverpaperwork
