Maintain a current working knowledge of EHS regulations and laws to provide expertise for EHS assessments, capital projects, work orders, and general EHS related problem solving at the site, regional and corporate level as needed.
Responsible for work center design and product/process flow including ergonomic considerations, lean manufacturing technology, mechanical design, electrical component usage & system logic, changeover ease, etc. to optimize the manufacturing process.
Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed including NFPA, OSHA standards, and others as required when designing or retrofitting equipment and controls.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is also responsible for overseeing the technical work of other mechanical engineers and designers; prepare complete project mechanical drawings and specifications with very little oversight, coordinate work within the Condition Monitoring Team as well as with other disciplines.
Working with various departments (i.e., Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, HR Safety and Environmental) across the organization, including joint ventures, to identify, develop and implement cost savings and process improvement initiatives.
