    Women are not the only ones to develop breast cancer. Unfortunately, men are prone to the disease as well. According to the American Breast Cancer Society, in 2017 about 2,470 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in men. In fact, Peter Criss, the drummer from the band Kiss, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008.     In 2017, the American Cancer Society estimates about 252,720 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women and 2,470 in men. As such, proactive actions are being taken and on Saturday, October 28, Acorn employees will join the effort to help the American Cancer Society save lives from breast cancer by participating in the Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. If you are in the Orlando area and would like to participate in the walk, you may sign up with Acorn and join us at Lake Eola at 9am.     Today we honor Alfonso Cuarn for #hispanicheritagemonth. Alfonso Cuarn is a Mexican film director, screenwriter, producer and editor and is known for A Little Princess (1995), Y Ty Mam Tambin (2001), Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), and most recently, Gravity (2013). He began working in Mexico as a technician and then as a director. His television work first led to him working as an assistant director for several Latin American films including Gaby: A True Story and Romero. And in 1991, he landed his first big-screen hit as a director for Solo con tu pareja. In 2014 Cuarn accepted the Golden Globe Award and Oscar for Best Director for Gravity, becoming the first Latin American to win an Academy Award.
