AAJHS was represented by 20 students at the Blair County Chorus Festivalheld at the Bellwood-Antis Middle School on March 6th and 7th. The guest conductor was Dr. Craig Denison from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

The Lady Lion Basketball team will play against Cedar Cliff on Friday, March 10 at the Hollidaysburg High School gym. Tipoff is at 6 PM. Tickets will go on sale in the Athlietic Office beginning Tuesday, March 7 and will be available until 11 AM on Friday. Students are encouraged to get their tickets ahead of time ($3) as there will be no student priced tickets available at the gate. Good Luck Lady Lions!!!

Altoona Area High School Speech League students recently competed in the Regional Speech League Competition held at St. Francis University on February 27 and March 1, 2017. Twenty-two teams participated in the competition with the Mt. Lions taking 2nd place in the team completion. For a complete listing of individual places, go to www.aasdcat.com news.

AmeriCorps week is here! A special thank you goes out to the eight AmeriCorps members working daily in each of our 8 elementary schools within the Altoona Area School District. These members work with children every day to ensure they are meeting their goals by providing individualized/group help and support. We are grateful for their service and appreciate their dedication to our children and schools
