The Network Engineer II provides IT infrastructure engineering for data center and infrastructure upgrades, changes, troubleshooting, relocation and migrations specializing in advanced Cisco solutions.
In this role, you will be responsible for messaging (such as Common User Digital Information eXchange Subsystem (CUDIXS), Navy Command Control and Communications (NC3), Command and Control Official Information Exchange (C2OIX)) - NGEN - Next Generation Enterprise Network - ONENET- OCONUS Navy Enterprise NETwork - Piers [includes Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) technology.
In this role, you will provide systems engineering support including narrow band SATCOM, Cryptography/Cyber security/IA; 3G and beyond WCDMA telecommunications and IP-network operations; E2E systems and terminal integration.
In this role, you will be responsible for the integration, testing, implementation, troubleshooting, configuration management, and sustainment of internet protocol network configurations throughout the programs lifecycle.
In this role, you will use your network engineering expertise to diagnose and resolve complex problems, design and implement network configurations and network architecture support, and maintain a variety of network communication protocols.
The Engineer will provide engineering and design activities to support complex decision-making issues as well as reviewing technical and engineering drawings, provide updates, and recommend system configuration changes.
In this role, you will perform network engineering and technical analyses to support the integration of communications connectivity via commercial or military Satellite Communications (SATCOM) systems, and direct Line of Sight (LOS) communication systems with existing and future networks.
In this role, you will analyze local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring and installing network switches and routers.
In this role, you will also have the opportunity to execute plans for periodic hw/sw upgrades to the network infrastructure; developing rack layouts, system interconnect diagrams, cabling and assembly of equipment; as well as integration of a variety of satellite communications products.
In this role, you will prepare and manage IT related documentation including as - built network diagrams, standard operating procedures, configuration management records, interconnection agreements, IP assignments tables, etc.
In this role, you will be directly involved in the design of back office applications such as provisioning, traffic management, and billing systems, as well as optimizing the implementation on the deployed system.
