The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance and Engineering (TFOME) team at the NASA Glenn Research Center provides engineering and technical services in the areas of aero-propulsion and space propulsion and power test facilities.
In this role, you will participate in technical investigations, studies, problem review, new and proposed equipment, materials, processes and facilities and provide sound engineering evaluations and recommendations for proposed actions.
In this role, you will be responsible for
develop and prepare complete manufacturing processes for product hardware of above average complexity in order to meet/exceed the departmental goals of L.U., MPS, and scrap and lead time.
In this role, the selected candidate will design and fabricate mechanical components and systems for next-generation benchtop and in-vehicle prototypes, including infotainment displays, connectivity hardware, active safety sensors and mechatronic systems for automated driving.
In this role, you will have the management of electrical control equipment programs for new and existing products, including cost estimation, justification, design, development, implementation, and validation.
In this role, you will participate in the identification and implementation of new product development process including definition of manufacturing capability requirements to ensure facility has manufacturing capability to produce products.
In this role, you will develop product layout and designs, perform analysis, research specifications and support product development activities. Will work under the direction of a Project Engineer or IPT lead and some travel may be required.
In this role, the selected candidate will monitor Preventive/Predictive maintenance program and ensure timely resolution of all identified issues; identify and resolve chronic electrical asset concerns (bad actors).
