The Emergency Department Nurse Educator plans, develops and implements a comprehensive educational program including orientation, staff development, and continuing education activities encompassing the needs of nursing personnel.
The Emergency Department Registered Professional Nurse is responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process. She/he implements the Nursing Service standards of care and practice, as appropriate to the ages of the patients served and the areas of clinical practice.
In this role, the Emergency Department Nurse Educator (RN) will be responsible assessing the educational needs of the staff on an on-going basis and serving as a resource / coach for the Nursing staff, Educators, APNs, Management, and other healthcare providers.
In this role, you will organize and administers individualized age specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Supports philosophy, objectives and the mission and vision of Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing.
In this role, the selected candidate will perform diagnostic and procedural coding for Emergency Department medical records. Utilize the paper-based and online representation of the medical record, review, abstracts and apply appropriate diagnostic coding, facilitate level E&M coding, and APC assignment of Emergency Department patient records according to coding guidelines as applicable.
This position guides, directs, teachers, evaluates and counsels unit staff in providing professional care while complying with policy and procedures. She/he acts as a clinical educator implementing the nursing practice model, nursing process and provides direct patient care as needed.
