The Pediatric Oncology unit of a respected hospital in New York City is actively seeking a compassionate and empathetic Registered Nurse (RN) to join their staff as their new Nurse Manager. In this role, the Pediatric Oncology Nurse Manager will cover the oncology outpatient clinic and infusion center.
In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with the nursing clinical director, physician leader and staff in insuring that the service/unit maintains the highest standards of patient care and is responsive to the needs of the patient & family as well as the organization.
In this role, you will utilize a collaborative process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, to engage, educate, and promote / influence members decisions related to achieving and maintaining optimal health status.
In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring the quality of nursing care delivered by reviewing documentation, meeting with patients and/or families, and investigating all practice concerns.
In this role, you will be responsible for
planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care on the unit.You will also carry out the System, Hospital and Nursing Service mission, vision, values and the overall strategic planning, clinical management, patient care, budgeting, financial management and quality management on the unit.
In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for developing and administering department budgets according to hospital guidelines; maximizing potential of self and subordinates by supporting professional growth and conducting training and orientation sessions.
This position functions autonomously and in collaboration with all members of the healthcare team to coordinate and facilitate quality, cost-effective care while minimizing fragmentation of the healthcare delivery system for ESRD and CKD patients.
