The ICU RN II is a staff nurse, who as an experienced clinician functions at the Competent stage of Benners model of clinical practice. The Critical Care RN II provides direct patient care effectively and efficiently to a patient team which may include patients with varied and complex needs.
Using expertise in education and professional developmentpractices, functions autonomously and in collaboration with staff, leadership,faculty and researchers to develop, implement, and evaluate staff development programsthat promote synergistic nursing practices and patient outcomes.
Responsible for the delivery of excellence in patient care through assessing, formulating nursing diagnoses and establishing goals, planning and implementing intervention and evaluating patient care outcomes.
Provide direct patient care using nursing process within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act and in accordance with professional standards, hospital and unit policies and procedures regarding care of the patient.
Responsible performing initial, concurrent review activities; discharge care coordination for determining efficiency, effectiveness and quality of medical/surgical services and serving as liaison between providers and Medical and Network Management Divisions.
The CRN II works with the PI, department, sponsor, and institution to support and provide guidance on the administration of the GCP compliance, financial and other related aspects of the research study.
