Responsible for providing quality patient care and management of all patients and nursing staff for a specific clinic area and functions in an administrative and/or managerial capacity in the clinical environment.
The Med/Surg Charge Nurse is an experienced clinician who functions at the Competent stage of Benners model of clinical practice. The Charge Nurse may provide direct patient care effectively and efficiently to a patient assignment which may include patients with varied and complex needs.
Serve as permanent Charge Nurse on assigned unit/department; directs, coordinates and participates in the evaluation/supervision of the nursing process as the basis for patient care practice, ensuring the highest quality patient care is delivered, cost-effective operations and continuity of care.
In this role, you will provides effectivepatient/family education based on individualized learning needs to includedischarge instructions and facilitates effective interdisciplinary andinterdepartmental communication to assure delivery of quality patient careacross the continuum.
