The Database Developer will provide technical expertise in the analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance for existing and new, high-volume, data intensive systems. This position requires use of critical thinking and problem solving techniques to address complex database design issues, including data movement and replication among geographically dispersed components.
In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain new and existing database objects including tables, indexes, constraints, stored procedures, and user-defined functions in support of data conversion projects.
Candidate will be responsible for supporting the Business Intelligence efforts to include the COGNOS enterprise reporting environment and will include database programming support, testing developed reports and assessing impacts of changes and troubleshooting to multiple IT projects.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, improving and maintaining new and existing databases to help users retrieve data efficiently and effectively from a high data volume environment.
Ensure security enhancements to the existing SQL code. Install, tune and administer SQL 2014 Clusters including Always on Availability Groups, Author design documents, build procedure, test procedures.
In this role, you will participate in all phases of full life-cycle development / maintenance of systems, including requirements analysis, applications design, implementation, testing, deployment and documentation.
Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering.
Provide scripting development and support for an established, high visibility client database integration project. Assist with the maintenance of databases, including data integrity assurance, loading, and dissemination. Interface with internal and external clients to develop custom scripting solutions for automated query and distribution of GEOINT data.
The Business Systems/Database Engineer will be responsible for administering and providing enhancements to our Deltek (CostPoint/e-time/GovWin) systems, Microsoft SQL servers, SharePoint servers, and other additional business systems.
This position requires experience with SQL relational database systems (preference is Microsoft SQL Server). Prior experience developing with Object Relational Mapping (ORM) systems and supporting data access for web applications is highly desirable.
The applicant will be working with the application developers on correct database access procedures and will be asked to write and debug Java code. The applicant may also support the test team by developing scripts that provide scenario data for their environment.
Design and deploy data table structures, forms, reports, and queries. Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
