The Clinical Documentation Specialist will maintain proficiency in use of Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) applications and all application software used to code and assign working MS-DRG, APR-DRG, SOI, ROM.
Develop interventional strategies to maximize appropriate antibiotic utilization and improve patient outcomes including but not limited to antibiotic guidelines, clinical pathways, restriction criteria, policy development, new laboratory methods and formulary management.
Provides direct/indirect specialized, comprehensive care, emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention and collaborative management strategies. Participates in clinical, educational, leadership, consultant and research activities of service area.
The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and ensuring provision of safe quality patient care by daily monitoring of the activities of assigned staff and by taking corrective action as necessary.
