The Network Engineer will be involved in planning, designing, developing, maintaining, securing, and monitoring local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), virtual routers, network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, STIGs, Audits, Reports), and TACLANEs.
Support both customer driven and Verizon internal requirements, including Private IP, Public IP, Video, VoIP and Wireless traffic. As high level designs are developed, considerations such as space-constrained and/or power-constrained locations, available fiber, diversity, reliability and cost effectiveness
In this role, you will be responsible for project engineering, planning, coordination, and budgeting as it applies to telecommunications transmission/radio systems. The selected candidate will provide expertise and guidance in determining the project, work order and documentation processes for an effective and efficient delivery of services.
Ability to adapt to dynamic responsibilities, work effectively with limited information to seek out the necessary resources to complete the task at hand, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.
Analyzes voice; video; radio-frequency; and/or data communications networks; including planning; designing; evaluating; selecting; and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators; bridges; and other devices.
