Analyze technical needs, requirements, and state of the network's infrastructure design, integration, and operations; work with technical management to architect networks that effectively reflect business needs, service-level and availability requirements, and other technology parameters.
Assess potential items of risk and opportunities of vulnerability in the network through Security Event monitoring and analysis; responsible for implementation, administration and management of customers security infrastructure.
Utilize internal tools such as Granite Xng and Sales Force to design Commercial Engineering network elements and Commercial Services consistent with Engineering policies, standards, and best practices.
Design, implement, and monitor security measures for the protection of Infrastructure Systems and Services which include: Cloud Computing Environment, Virtualized Wintel/Solaris/Linux Environments, and foundational core services like AD, DNS, IPAM etc.
Interface with other organizations and personnel within Time Warner Cable including: equipment architecture, equipment installation, fiber design and construction, operational support, planning and corporate compliance.
Perform, on behalf of UL clients, code reviews and risk analysis of critical enterprise functions; follow up on the latest developments and contribute to the internal innovation in the cyber security area.
Provide liaison with boundary partners such as Customers, Sales, Sales Support, Market Development, Order Management, Sales Engineering, Project Management, OSP Design, Construction, CND Circuit Design, CNO, and Tech Ops on the engineering requirements and needs of product lifecycles.
The engineer provides support for new innovations, projects, and standards development. Ensures adherence to defined VPN Engineering Processes and identifies and helps influence platform strategic direction in coordination with business user needs and direction thru previous resolved issues.
