The clinical specialist is responsible for the provision of pharmaceutical care within their specialty group. The clinical specialist serves as a clinical resource within the specialty area. The clinical specialist promotes strong relationships with the medical staff and other healthcare professionals and departments within the hospital and system.
Evaluates the day to day documentation practices of the Medical Staff and healthcare team on medical surgical patient population (excludes complex cases such as transplants and open hearts), and offers education and recommendations in accordance with the Clinical Documentation Program.
Partners with appropriate resources to prepare the learning environment prior to training delivery and address issues, as needed, to ensure effective delivery. Provides clarity on the requisite logistical arrangements and physical arrangement of the instruction site, materials, equipment and furniture.
