The Director of Surgery contributes to the goals of the hospital by generating new surgical business, developing and controlling operational and capital budgets, intervening and solving potential patient safety problems.
Directs nursing service activities for assigned oncology patients. Delegates responsibilities to oncology staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of oncology patient clinical records, and writes reports on oncology staff performance and services rendered.
Manages the nursing services and staff for a facility; ensures quality and full compliance with relevant policies and standards. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS Coushatta Healthcare, and demonstrating behavior consistent with the Core Values.
Serves on various committees such as Patient Care, Pharmaceutical Services, Infection Control, Safety First, Quality Assurance, as applicable, which meet to evaluate activities within the facility and recommends changes in operations. Follows up on committee recommendations affecting nursing services.
Provides leadership and management of outcomes organizationally and for area of responsibility. Coordinates collaborative interdisciplinary strategies for Joint Commission preparation and processes for ongoing compliance to regulatory standards.
The System Director leads clinical process improvement and operational excellence deployment for the organization. The focus will be to lead, roll-out, and implement clinical operational excellence programs while being responsible for driving continuous improvement in productivity, cost, efficiency, and quality using continuous improvement methodologies (Team Empowerment, Kaizen & Lean methodologies.
Manages and coordinates organization-wide efforts to ensure that performance improvement (PI) programs are developed and managed using a data driven focus that sets priorities for improvements aligned to ongoing strategic imperatives.
