The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting assignments under general direction from the Assistant Controller. The incumbent will plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation or modification of standard accounting techniques, procedures and practices.
Prepare economic models of potential new revenue, prepare and analyze customer usage reports and review with management, maintain capital assets and depreciation, customer billing, manage all aspects of company property and casualty insurance, monthly analysis of financials, assist in budgeting process, and assist the Controller.
The Senior Accountant primary focuses are internal reporting & analysis, the month-end close cycle, and general accounting as it relates to payroll, sales and use tax, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable.
As a Senior Accountant on the Salaried Professional Service team, engagements can include roles related to medical leave, start-ups, mergers & acquisitions, high-growth, organizational restructuring/reorganization, and systems implementations/integrations. Roles can range from positions on an established accounting team to projects where the consultant would engage as an individual contributor.
Perform month, quarter, and year-end close tasks including timely review of journal entries and account reconciliations Partnering with our clients in their accounting operations, reporting and analysis, and business process improvement projects.
Prepares and distributes other reports and/or analysis as needed. Assists with preparation, analysis, and verification of various schedules for reporting. Prepares data for internal and external auditors.
Contribute to the overall financial reporting internal control framework including review and documentation of business processes to identify controls, assess the effectiveness of the design and operation of controls, identify gaps in the control structure, recommend changes to enhance the effectiveness of the controls, and develop/document test plans and procedures in accordance with requirements.
Prepare monthly performance reviews for Controller / CFO to be presented to company management and corporate. Monitor, improve and develop company leading indicators, on financial and operation performances.
