This position will be responsible for managing materials that have critical impact on the organization. Responsibilities will encompass materials planning (Clear to build), inventory control, E & O analysis and projections, New Product Material readiness, logistics readiness from suppliers to OEMs.
They develop meaningful business relationships quickly and instill confidence in the customer. They have navigated and mastered multiple and interfaced ERP systems and they relish harnessing, manipulating, and analyzing metrics and using data to be persuasive.
In this role, you will serve as single point of contact to the supply chain team to confirm supplier readiness in terms of production capacity and approved critical parts manufacturing prior to key product milestones.
Develop and maintain Mill relationships and maintain libraries of approved fabric swatches for each, including but not solely inclusive of; construction, weights, costs, lead time, minimums, width, test results, finish, and special applications.
The Materials Manager is responsible for the plant's Purchasing, Planning, Stockroom and Receiving/Shipping departments. While the primary role is to manage and supervise, they will also be responsible for complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company.
The Materials Manager will lead and have direct responsibility for Shipping, Receiving, Procurement and Production Planning departments. The Materials Manager develops strategies to support the companys Business Plan objectives & targets. Will facilitate plant physical inventory and act as a liaison with customers and suppliers.
Forecasts and communicates engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers; provides input to outsourcing decisions by performing make versus buy analysis; coordinates demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
