This position will also support existing products, customer interface and meetings, and modification of existing designs for custom applications; design duties will include all aspects of sensor design including conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design tasks.
The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for setting up new production processes, managing quality issues on the production floor, and qualifying and monitoring suppliers in order to ensure continual performance improvement through the application of preventative and corrective actions.
Troubleshoot process and equipment related issues, perform root cause analysis to develop and implement corrective action plans, develop and implement improved designs of existing production equipment and processes.
Develop statistically based sampling plans for design verification, design and process validation activities, new/existing product test methods,and incoming inspection to ensure they meet their predetermined requirements.
The position is responsible for product design, development, test and assembly. The chosen candidate should have a proven track record of developing initial complex system concepts into qualified hardware. The candidate should be both an expert in design and also comfortable evaluating designs in a hands-on lab environment. The candidate will regularly communicate and coordinate with cross-functional team members.
You will be responsible for providing support labor and services required to accomplish the following activities in support of the various product lines supported by the Mechanical Engineering Section.
This position will support existing manufacturing to ensure continuity, monitor compliance, perform technical assessments of nonconforming product, implement process improvements to improve quality and throughput, and support development of new processes in our Irvine, CA facility.
