Under consultative direction, this position is responsible for purchasing complex and mission critical machinery and equipment, fabricated parts, tools, raw material, other supplies and services necessary to support assigned contract(s), subcontract(s) or an internal organization(s).
Coordinates the procurement and distribution of materials, parts, equipment, supplies, and services by verifying purchase requisitions, item specifications, and preparing, forwarding, and monitoring purchase orders.
Coordinate material requirements with Engineering, Finance, Logistics and Procurement to ensure 100% on-time delivery by establishing and monitoring schedule to proactively identify and address any issues.
Directs and coordinates program activities designed to ensure effective and efficient economic support. Analyzes and evaluates design concepts to determine if concepts satisfy support requirements; studies the relative supportability of alternative concepts. Anticipates logistics problems related to operational area and environmental and human factors.
In this role, you will collaborates across the organization and builds working relationships with Business Units and partners to ensure process solutions are compliant, efficient and adaptable to business units, sites and functions throughout the world.
Lead the functional analysis and design discussions, advising clients on the use of the solutions based on best practices and the customers business processes focusing on inventory management and production planning and execution.
The buyer will attend program material/status meetings and production meetings as required. Travel to suppliers may be required. As a senior buyer, will perform as unofficial lead and devleop buyers by guiding them as needed and assist a supervisor.
Responsible for planning, placing, and maintaining purchase orders, managing inventory levels while also staying within a given financial spending plan, expediting material when necessary, sourcing of suppliers, and reporting on given metrics.
Conduct logistics engineering evaluations of selected components of the weapon systems to identify variances in the actual performances versus logistic support analysis projections and recommend changes to the LSA databases.
In this role, you will manage purchase order progress, including working with suppliers and other supporting departments ( e.g., quality, microbiology, engineering ) to ensure production plans are met.
