In this role, you will perform and complete pre-anesthesia evaluations for patients in all age groups, newborns through geriatrics, having outpatient and inpatient surgery. Assigns American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status classification to the patient.
In this position, you will communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with retail and medical partners at various levels, patients, family members, physicians and representatives of the community.
The Trauma APRN participates as a member of the St. Davids South Austin Hospital Nursing Department to assist in improving the trauma patient flow within the hospital. Under the medical supervision and direction of the Trauma Medical Director and/or trauma service line physicians, the Trauma APRN conducts rounds on patients, documents patient progress, performs assessments, coordinates and evaluates the plan of care and documents, implements and oversees discharge plans as within the Trauma APRN scope of practice and as permitted under Texas Law.
The selected candidate will assure competent and ethical care of patients and families. Shares with the supervising physician and hospital staff the responsibilities of providing and maintaining a quality, customer-focused, nursing and medically appropriate approach to patient assessment, care plan development and implementation, follow-up to outcomes, and cost-effective delivery of services.
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting rounds on patients, performing assessments, coordinating and evaluating the plan of care, and implementing discharge plans at the direction and supervision of the Primary Physician permitted under Texas law.
